Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

Thank goodness for Brother Embroidery Machines, now all my daughters’ room has finally been given a face lift and decorated to fit in with all her needs and wants. I found that the Brother Embroidery Machine was precise, agile and very simple to use, never once was I confused over what stitch do next or how to finish and complete a stitch, which is a key component when it comes to embroidery. Also all the fabrics I had brought were able to sewn upon as the Brothers Embroidery Machine has an adaptable feature where you can change the width and height of each fabric that you sew upon. This makes the machine highly flexible and very helpful. In fact the who design process only took me just over a month and considering I did it by my myself I don’t think was a bad effort in the end. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Ways to Clean Your Precious Moments Collector Figures

Saturday, September 18th, 2010

Precious Moment figurines are tremendous collectible figurines that were originally created by Sam Butcher in 1970. These large-eyed figurines usually portray children and express angelic scenes. The original figurines are made from a clay mold and the result is fine bisque figurine. Precious Moment figurines should be stored in a closed display cabinet, but when they get dirty, you must take special care to clean them.

These figurines will surely pick up dust over time even if they are in a display case. Because of the delectable corners and finely formed features, avoid using dust materials or anything that could hurdle and break small pieces. Instead using paintbrushes with different size and shape will work best. You can also use a hair dryer that is set on cool setting and compressed air can which are used to clean electronics.

Spots and acquired stains are harder to remove carefully, but it is efficient to clean them out by not damaging the figurines. You can try to rinse the figurine under warm running water and carefully rub the blemish with your finger. If it doesn’t work try to dip the figurine in a bowl of warm tap water and mild dish soap and use a soft clean cloth to clean it. To avoid too much water being absorbed by the figurine, tape the hole on the bottom of the figurine. Precious Moments figurines are most often have light color and can be discolored easily. It is better to try to dip and clean it repeatedly in water and soap solution. Dry the figurine lightly on a soft towel after rinsing it in water.

Never put your Precious Moments Collector Figures in a dishwasher or use sharp cleaners. Also don’t use bleach on the figurines. Don’t let the figurine drench in liquids because it will destroy the structure by absorbing water.

These ways are also applicable in other porcelain figurines like Hummel Figurines and Lladro porcelain.
