Toddler’s Playground Set – Number 1 Item in Its Safety Checklist

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

It is very natural for parents to be very anxious when their children are running and playing in the playground in a park. Children on the other hand cannot be dissuaded when they are climbing and sliding. Children are very mischievous and they have the tendency to disregard parental warnings on the danger of their actions. Kids will always be kids and wherever they are, whatever they do, they need adults’ watchful eyes.

In the park, children tend to be reckless and bumps here and there are inevitable. Thus, the first thing to check about playground sets is the material used. These should not be too hard. The best material is hard plastic which are child-friendly and non-toxic. There should be no sharp edges or corners. Instead all of these are smooth. Little Tikes had manufactured different kinds of playground sets and all of these have maximum safety features. A favorite in the line-up is the little tikes 8 in 1 adjustable playground set which is used in many private playgrounds and day care centers. Although the safety features are integrated in every playground set, adult supervision is still the most important safety net.

Tips for Buying Car Seats for Toddlers

Friday, October 7th, 2011

There are a few questions most parents, especially the new parents, would want to ask regarding car seats for toddlers. These parents probably need some tips regarding finding the right ones to choose. These tips prioritize safety and comfort for your baby and you as well. Safety should be of top priority. Whether your car seat style or design is not that attractive nor is not appealing, as long as your baby is safe, it should give you peace of mind. Comfort is also important because your baby shouldn’t only be safe, they should also be comfortable because it is one reason why you bought a car seat anyway. As long as the baby or the toddler is firmly seated, comfort will go along as well. Budget is another big factor. The car seat you will buy should not be too extravagant or not too cheap as well. The two former principles should always be on hand. So for car seats for toddlers, always put these principles in mind.

Munchkin Cups for Baby

Monday, September 19th, 2011

If your baby is about ready to graduate from bottle to cup, but you aren’t quite ready to deal with the messes that “big kid cups” cause in the hands of little ones, consider using Munchkin trainer cups. Munchkin cups for baby boys and girls allow children of ages six months and up to ditch the bottle while preventing messes for mom to clean up later.

Munchkin trainer cups have handles that are made for tiny hands to grasp easily. The soft spout on the Munchkin cups for baby makes for an easy transition from the bottle, as do the colorful designs that are sure to be pleasing to your young child. Some Munchkin cups even feature favorite cartoon characters, including the ever-popular Dora the Explorer.

The lids on the Munchkin trainer cups screw on tight and won’t pop off if the cup is dropped, squeezed, or thrown across the room. The built-in valve further insures that there won’t be any leakage, even if your child insists on holding their cup upside down.

Your baby cannot use bottles forever. Eventually, they will have to grow up and learn how to use a big kid cup. Munchkin cups for baby allow an easy transition from one to the other, while minimizing the mess for mama.

Great Potty Training Advice

Monday, March 14th, 2011

Just a few weeks ago, my two year old first starting showing signs that she was ready to begin potty training. I was ecstatic! Not only was she a little bit early when it came to being ready, but I was mostly excited about not having to buy diapers or change her anymore. But I knew that potty training wasn’t something that could be taught overnight, and so I told myself to be patient with my daughter and try to ease her into it. I also decided to do some researching for potty training advice to make things easier on me. This is what I found that worked: First of all, be sure to be patient with your child. Show her how to use her potty, and explain how everything works. Most importantly, be sure to praise her when she uses the potty, as that will encourage her to do it more often. These tips worked for me and I hope they will for you too.

You can also place its favorite toys in the pen when the pen is a bigger one. The bigger size playpen can be used till the baby reaches 2 years of age. For outdoor use If you need to take your baby outdoor very often all you need to travel, then you should buy a foldable or portable playpen. How to Conceive a Baby Girl by Easier Ways

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

Many of us may be thinking of how to conceive a girl? Well, it all depends on the time you make love. Prior to this, you should know why this timing is so significant. It is because you can have a girl baby only when the X chromosomes reach the eggs to fertilize. So, what you need to do is to make love two to three days prior to ovulation. Because as the X chromosome is slow in movement, the time it takes to reach the eggs will be ideal. Whereas the Y chromosome moves faster but unfortunately has less life span. So, there is no doubt that the sperm carrying male chromosomes will die, thereby losing the chances for fertilization. Eventually, the chance for the X chromosome or in other words female chromosome is higher and at last you get the desired result, that is conceive a baby girl.

What To Look For In A Baby Gate

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

If you are searching for a baby gate for your home you already know you have a lot of different choices when it comes to makes and styles. Whether it be safety gates for stairs or some other type of travel gate, there are a variety of options available. That said, there are a couple of vital things you will want to look for with any type of gate you plan on purchasing.

First, you always want to avoid any type of baby gate with vertical slats or bars. This applies especially to older models that lacked the proper safety guidelines at the time. What can happen is that a child’s head or arm can get stuck in between the slats and create a terrible accident.

Another thing to be aware of is a gate that has sharp edges. Regardless if it is a metal or wood gate, run your hand over it to detect any kind of sharp edge before you set it up and begin using it.

Toys: From Thomas The Train To Grand Theft Auto

Friday, June 11th, 2010

At the age of four, I had an obsession with trains. My mom bought me an old wood railroad set which I set up in my room and played with trains all day. It wasn’t an electric set, yet it was really cool. It let me design my own train track routes and it came with trains that I could push on the tracks. I spent hours making my own routes, my own stops and everything.

Another significant toy/game was Grand Theft Auto Vice City, which I received at the age of 12. Ignoring the game’s violent (and apparently unavoidable) undertones, I felt that the game (you play a gangster that has free reign on a city) gave me a chance to explore and make up my own situations. I could drive whatever car I wanted to, go wherever I wanted to or do almost anything. It was fun to drive when at the time I couldn’t even drive a real car!

It’s amazing how much kids toys have changed over the years.

My Daughter is an Artist

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

My daughter has artist’s blood in her veins… She makes sketches of everything she lays her eyes on and paints using amazing colours .. on my walls. I had to repaint her room 5 times and she is only 5. I tried everything with her, but pencils and sheets of paper just didn’t please her. I even tried collage, but it wasn’t quick enough for her. She kept telling me that everything changes so fast, the light, the tones, she needed to capture the moment… And she was always disappointed she couldn’t do it.. not even when she used my walls as a canvas, as she had no time to search for paper. So, I finally bought her the Fisher Price camera for kids. And thus, I made her the best present ever. Now she can catch on camera a leaf falling from the trees or a ray of sun on her desk… And while she is happy taking photos… I am happy not redecorating.
